Billy needs his own hero – could that be you?

Billy is another sad little dog who found himself unwanted, and being given away for free. We received a call saying we had to go and collect him there and then, on a Sunday night, because his owners had a new job and he would have been left for over 9 hours at a time, from the next day on. So, 8.30pm that evening, we met the darling who is Billy, and brought him home with us. I have never seen such a cute, porky little fella; the poor thing hardly wanted to move.

They told us they had bought Billy a few weeks previously, they had gone to a house to collect him and been told he was a 1 year old Jack Russell terrier… no comment from me on that. I would say he was the very spoilt and over fed pet, probably of an older person who for whatever reason could no longer keep him. He is around 4 years old and weighed in at over 9.5kg, which considering he should be more like 5kg is a bit ridiculous… can you imagine being twice what you should weigh? You obviously wouldn’t have as much energy as you should have!

He does have a bounce around the place when he’s excited, and loves his walks and is great off-lead, but then needs good ‘rest’ periods in between. He is obviously on a mega-diet, with food that we will provide until he reaches his proper weight – that should take around 6 – 8 months. He has no health problems other than his inflated waist line, is castrated, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and has received flea treatment (wasn’t needed, just to be on the safe side).

A rehoming fee of £125 is requested, and for that you will get the adoration of a dog who is in real need of some sensible love – over-feeding does not equal responsible dog ownership!

Please get in touch if you would like to find out more or meet our little poppet Billy, but only if you can say no to those gorgeous teddy bear eyes when he asks for more food! Billy is great with other dogs, travels really well, and has met children as young as 3 years old although we would want to home him with children over the age of seven if they could be sensible around him, as he doesn’t like a huge amount of screaming and being pulled around. Not 100% sure about cats but he isn’t interested in them on walks so I think he would be fine and I would be happy to try him with them if that were required. He is waiting to hear from you right now! Thank you for reading.
